About WSC

Welford Sports Club Objectives
“To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Welford-on-Avon, Warwickshire and the surrounding area the provision of facilities for recreation, sport or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life for the said inhabitants”.

This is the Objective as stated in the successful application for charitable status with the Charity Commission. Registration was achieved in March 2008 and the registered number is 1123230.

In practice Welford Sports Club manages the current facility at Synder Meadow for the benefit of individuals and organisations who wish to use the field primarily for sporting or recreational purposes.

Management means maintaining the field, the fence and the buildings. Providing benefit means arranging the availability of the facilities as and when required.

The management of the field is financed by subscriptions from the main users (football and cricket teams and clubs) and by various fund raising activities, mainly the Welford Village Fete. The Parish Council also help towards the cost of grass cutting.
